Following the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a tweet by former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan has gone viral. In this tweet, he has made a list of one of his cricket team from the retired cricketers and requested the current team to fight it. Irfan’s team includes 11 veterans who did not get a chance to play the Farewell match. The list includes former captain MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag along with several big names. Admittedly, it will not be easy for a team captained by Virat Kohli to defeat this team of retired gamers.
Irfan, taking the opinion of the followers, said what he would say about the charitable-cum-farewell match that might be performed between the team of retired gamers and the present Team India. Irfan wrote – People are speaking about making Farewell match for those gamers who have not retired with respect. What would it not be prefer to have a charity-cum-farewell match with the present team?
Irfan has included Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag in his squad as openers, while in the middle order, Irfan has included Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman. Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina have been included in his team as Allrounder. While the responsibility of wicketkeeping is with former captain MS Dhoni. Irfan has positioned himself at number 8 in the batting order, while Ajit Agarkar and Zaheer Khan have been adopted as fast bowlers on the 4th and 10th positions. Spinner Pragyan Ojha is the 11th participant of the team.
There is a common factor in all these cricketers, and that is that none of them have played a Farewell match. Most of these people have also regretted this matter. Sehwag, Gambhir, and Yuvraj have spoken openly on this.
